Travis Magazine also posted about Black Veil Brides, no new information but they had nice things to say about the music. Read it HERE.
Interview with the LA guys Black Veil BridesGosia met Black Veil Brides , just before their first gig in Sweden. Most of the guys were busy with make-up, aperitif and was a bit timid. Andy Bier Sack, their frontman and lead singer took over the interview and talked about their new album, strange rumors and naked shock on stage.
What represents Black Veil Brides for you?
Andy - Everything, it stands for our life. That's all we do, it is a combination of everything we have loved and done when we were growing up. There are five of us, we do what we want and love to do. We spend every day with each other, so it is literally our life and nothing else.
This is your first gig in Sweden, how does it feel?
Andy - Right now we're sitting backstage so it does not feel so special and when we came here it felt more or less like the U.S. actually. It is very similar in this way. But it feels cool that we get to play here for the first time for a little while, we'll see how we are received.
Do you have any expectations of the audience?
Andy - Yes, everywhere we go, they are wonderful! So we expect a good gig with good power from the audience. In most places we play we get a good reception, so you're always a little tense and expectant.
How do you up before you have to get up on stage?
Andy - I do not know, what are you Jake? Jake - Drinking Jack Daniels! No. But, it becomes much whiskey.Andy - Yes, definitely a lot of whiskey and other drinks.
What can you tell me about your new album "Set The World On Fire"?
Andy - It's a great album, haha! We are really proud of it and we definitely feel that when it comes to song writing, so we have grown and it is definitely the best we have done so far. The only thing that will get better than this is our third album, but we will talk about when it came out, haha.
It is still we who write songs, it is our ideas and therefore let it remain as us. But when you listen to it you can really feel that we have grown, become better and know our strengths as we are now focusing more on.Therefore, it was much easier to do the second album better than the first.
Furthermore, it is wonderful that it is our first album on a major record label, so we had bigger budget and more time to do it.Do you have any spare time when you are out on tour?
Andy - No, I have hardly any free time actually. We work all the time and think about what comes next, we are not only without always aiming toward the next goal. But you know, we do of course things like drinking and partying, and sometimes we do fun things on the days we are completely vacant. But most of the added free time to improve and work with the band.
You are one of those bands that have a very strong relationship with your fans, has it ever become too much?
Andy - I do not know ... I mean, the fans react and behave the way they do because they are dedicated and love what you do. One can not really complain about that. For us, the coolest and craziest people tattooed our names, because that is something you can not get rid of. It is something that will accompany you throughout life, such gestures are nice. It's also cool that they make up and dress up at our gigs.
What's the weirdest rumor you've heard about you?
Andy - Oh, there are so many examples! There are actually people who believe that we are not human beings but bears that go on jetsky. It's a pretty strange reputation, we're people. Since some believe that we make up ourselves, but it's actually our skin, we are suffering from terrible skin diseases, haha.
Tell us something about you that people would be surprised to hear that.
Andy - Amazed? Hmm ... I'm actually a big bear running jetsky! Haha no, all we did different things when we were growing up, I actually played hockey and it's not many people know about it. But now, do it! Oh, juste, CC (Christian Coma) was a political dictator when he was growing up, haha.
What can I find in your backstagerum?
Andy - Whiskey, makeup and color, our CDs, beer and the world's coolest band!
What's the most embarrassing that happened on stage?
Andy - It has happened a lot, at least to me. Once I got rid of all my clothes during a show ... to show the inside of my ass to everyone in the audience was pretty embarrassing.
If "Fallen Angels" was the soundtrack for a movie scene, what movie would you choose then?
Andy - Rocky! It would be played over and over again. No dialogue, just "Fallen Angels" and Rocky in action with his fists.
What is the hardest question anyone can ask you for an interview?
Andy - There must be enough, "Describe your music to someone who never heard you play ', because it feels so easy to fix. Just listen to the music, you know what we sound like and what music is about.
And what is the weirdest question you've ever received?
Andy - Someone asked me once if I would sell my pubis on ebay ... and the answer was no, haha.
What is your prized possession?
Andy - Black Veil Brides. It's that simple.
How long does it take for you to get ready for a show with all the clothes and makeup?
Andy - You know, we look like, you know, skin diseases ... Haha no, it's really different for everyone but it is perhaps somewhere between half hours, one hour.Would you add anything?
Andy - That we love our Swedish fans, we love Swedish fish ... Ashley - And Swedish girls! Andy - Yeah, you are silent throughout the interview, but when it comes to girls ... Ashley - Women is the only thing I have something to say about, haha. Andy - but it is the only thing he says. He only replace country, "I love, fill in the blank field, women", haha.
