Results for a few categories are being released each day for the AP Readers Poll. I posted yesterday about some of the categories BVB won, and today they have even more!
1. Andy won "Vocalist Of The Year" 2. Black Veil Brides won "Live Band Of The Year 2011" and Andy said this about the win: “I don’t know any bands that put on a better show than us. There’s obviously bands that choreograph their stage movements better than us, and who jump in place at the same time better than us--and that’s entertaining, to a degree. But as far as giving a hundred and ten percent of ourselves every time we’re on stage, we never hold back – and I think that’s made evident in that I’ve broken just about every bone in my body on stage this last year! [Laughs.]” 3. CC won "Drummer Of The Year" 4. Jake and Jinxx were both runners-up in "Guitarist Of The Year" 5. Ashley Purdy was runner-up in "Bassist Of The Year" 6. Black Veil Brides was runner-up in "Friendliest Band Twitterer" On top of all that, Black Veil Brides also won Best Song, Best Video, and Best Album in the Kerrang! Reader's Poll. However, they also got Worst Band. But at least people are paying attention, right? Oh, AND the Rebels EP is in the Top 10 EP's of 2011 over at Guitar World! They also put Set The World On Fire in the Top 50 Albums of 2011! Alternative Press has started posting the results of their 2011 AP Readers Poll, and so far Black Veil Brides is in the top 5 of four categories and they got first in three of those! They won "AP Totally Nailed It in 2011 When They Put...On The Cover" and, ironically, they also won "AP Totally Blew It When They Put...On The Cover." They also won "Band With The Best Merch This Year" and came in third for "Best Thing I Read in AP This Year."
November 26 - Augusta, GA The Buried Alive Tour ended last night, and what a great tour it was! The guys seemed to have a fantastic time on this tour, and were so excited to be touring with Avenged Sevenfold and their buddies in Asking Alexandria. They also managed to get through the tour with out any major injuries! All the fans that went also seemed to agree that BVB put on one hell of a show! You can visit this page to see the photos I've collected so far from this tour. As you can see, there's not many. So if you find any photos from the tour please send the link to me on the contact page, and I'll post them!
The end of this tour also happens to bring us pretty close to the end of 2011, so I think it's time for a look back at the wonderful year BVB and the BVB Army has had. The band started the year with recording their second full-length album, which would be called 'Set The World On Fire' and would be released in June. This was also their first album on a major label, Universal Republic/Lava Records. They also went to the UK to support the Murderdolls on tour and then went to Japan, where they experienced the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and had to end the tour early. After returning to the states, they headlined AP tour from March to May. Also in May, they released the first single from STWOF, 'Fallen Angels' followed by the video for the song, and the video for 'The Legacy.' In early June the band went to Europe to play at some festivals, such as Download and Sweden Rock Festival. They also won the Kerrang! Award for 'Best International Newcomer!' 'Set The World On Fire' was released on June 14, 2011 and reached the Top 20 on the Billboard charts! The band then went on Warped Tour, although they were not able to perform for the first week due to Andy's three broken ribs. In October Black Veil Brides went to Europe to do a headlining tour with My Passion and Yashin. They left Europe for a couple days to go to Japan for V-Rock Festival, and after returning to Europe for the rest of the tour, Andy broke his nose at a show in Luxembourg. He played another show after that, but then had to cancel the remaining dates. The band came back to the states, and then departed a few weeks later for the Buried Alive Tour! They supported Avenged Sevenfold on this tour which also included Asking Alexandria and Hollywood Undead. While on the tour, their EP 'Rebels' was released on December 13. And this brings us back to the present. What a year! And I'll bet we've got a lot more to look forward to in 2012, which they'll start off with a tour in Mexico and South America! Unfortunately, Black Veil Brides did not win the Favorite Breakthrough Band of 2011 on MTV, but we've got another chance to make them win! NME has opened voting for the NME Awards 2012 so head over HERE and vote for BVB in any categories that apply!
The full Bryan Stars interview with Andy and Danny (from Asking Alexandria) comes out on December 24, so for now, enjoy the behind the scenes! Voting ends tomorrow, army! You have to go vote like crazy! We're behind Big Time Rush and A Day To Remember! If we all vote as much as possible we can still win this! VOTE!
Andy talked to Rocksound about BVB's year in 2011, the future, their stage look, and, of course, rock. Check it our on their website.
THE BEAT did a phone interview with Andy's dad, Chris! Check it out below :) Andy talked to Revolver about the many injuries he has sustained on stage and picked five to describe, including the broken ribs, nose, and some others you may not have heard about!
“I never anticipated seeing 40,” shrugs Black Veil Brides frontman Andy Biersack when talking about the top five injuries he suffered in 2011, at least one of which could have been life-threatening. “I smoke two packs a day and drink like a camel. I just don’t really think about death. I know I’m gonna die one day, but if I can achieve all of my goals and live exactly the way I want to before then, I’ll have no regrets when I die. I don’t try to hurt myself like Iggy Pop or Marilyn Manson or anything–it’s just the byproduct of the chaos of being onstage.” Read the full article HERE. |
